So I was watching the news today and what should appear on the screen?
Tim Hortons of course!
Apparently they've opened up more stores in New York - giving out timbits to people on the street, getting them to try the coffee and all that jazz in order to further break into the American market.
But it was the answer on guy had to one of the questions that had me both laughing and agreeing:
What is Tim Hortons to Canadians?"
The answer (without a second of hesitation): " A religion."
Considering, according to
this article, Tim Hortons (at retail) accounts for 7 out of 10 cups of coffee sold at retail - per year I'm assuming... but still thats insane. Among other things. Then again not really when I think about how pervasive Tim Hortons is where I live alone. I mean damn the students at Uni - myself included - nearly staged a coup when we had to go without an outlet on campus for a week while they moved to a more central (and bigger) location.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to worship an XL Steeped Tea double-double!
