Alrighty it's time for my long promised Prince Caspian post.
I went to see the movie a week ago and I figure that by now I've figured out what I thought about it (preferably without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it).
Before going into my thoughts however I figure I should explain the twisted relationship I have with this series of movies. In all honesty when the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe came out I was pissed off beyond belief. I mean I grew up with those books. They represent my childhood like no other novels around. I swore never to watch it ever... but then I found out they were making Prince Caspian and I rethought my stance. Mostly because Prince Caspian was one of my favourites in the series. So I thought "what the hell I'll see PC when it comes out." But I never had any hope it would be mediocre let alone good and I had no motivation to see LWW. But watch it I did, since I was babysitting and I'd promised to let the kids watch whatever movie they wanted.
As it turns out I didn't hate it, in fact I enjoyed watching it. They didn't mess with it to the point they may as well have just written the script instead of adapting it. The acting wasn't as bad as I'd imagined (Skandar Keyes is the spitting image of a picture I've seen of my uncle when he was a kid...) so I turned around and bought the dvd and started a countdown to PC's theatrical release... all before they had even cast the movie's namesake mind.
History lesson over, now onto the thoughts with some spoilage.
You have been warned...
( Overall I thought it was pretty good... ) So liking it aside, I would go to see it again and probably will at least once more with my friend. Although this time it will be for the sole purpose of watching the gorgeous Ben Barnes on the big screen with a sexy - fake - accent and envy enducing hair.
That and it's got Reepicheep, the only fictional rodent to hold a permanent space in my heart.
"You people have no imagination!"
Obviously Lewis did, he created the little mouse swordsman after all...
