I think I'm at #7, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I haven't done a Fun Factoid, and I had a moment to spare, so I thought "What the hell? Why not?"

So Fun Factoid #7 is:

The only character I have never, ever considered killing off is Lucien. I find that surprising. Yes, that means I have considered killing every character at one time or another (now I'm only counting characters that are pivotal to the story). I have even considered killing Vesper. I don't know how everyone feels about her, some might like it quite a bit if I killed her, but when a main character dies, especially when they are the main narrator, things become problematic (early in the story, at least).

Now back to Lucien: there is actually no special reason for why I never considered killing Lucien. The two thoughts just never connected in my mind. Many characters, when I have thought of them at one time, I have also thought of their 'death scene', but I have never thought of one for Lucien. Somehow, it just never computed. But perhaps that is the reason.

And now that I've discovered this character who has escaped my morbid attention, I may have to rectify the situation...

.i hate everything about you
.why do i love you?

so. today, LJ ate four of my posts on TWA. gah.

do you know just how painful it was getting those to even work in the first place? LJ obv does not like my edition of Word, & our theme has something against long entries. the only thing that seems to guarantee formatting is if i go through html. but there's one small prob with that:

i. do. not. know. html.

i can do basic coding, but the order that i'm supposed to put things in when i'm dealing with coloured links & the like confuses the hell out of me. rich text doesn't like me dabbling with that, either. i have to click the buttons in a certain order. & if i start in rich text & flip over to html to correct something like that via code, it clumps the entire code together. & i can't read code in a huge block. my eyes refuse to.

formatting makes me freak out. this is driving me insane. [info]stringless_kite , you need to teach me :(

okay, i need to go back to work. i shall fix everything when i actually have the time to. i really shouldn't have played with it tonight, but i needed a break.

huh. my winter break is going to be busy.

*HEADWALL*

Boy, this one was nasty. Unlike last year, this story bled me word for word. The last 4K were incredibly difficult since I just wanted it to be DONE AND OVER WITH. The story is nowhere near being finished since it's a trilogy, but at least I have a few chapters! :P Now I just want to crawl into bed or do something incredibly undemanding. I can't think anymore, y'all.

Yes, Cairo.

But first:

My Thanksgiving was lovely--I've had such a great time in New York this past week. I saw West Side Story on Broadway yesterday, and it was FANTASTIC. Our last-minute seats were seriously in the second-to-last row on the third tier, but even in the nosebleed section, the show was mind-blowingly good.

I also had an awesome time meeting the lovely [info]seeyouupside on Wednesday, and the super-amazing Alex Bracken ([info]bracken) yesterday! It was definitely one (or two?) of the highlights of my trip!

But THE highlight of my trip (aside from spending time with my family) was getting a new job! I won't say where (because a little mystery is always good), but I am SO excited about this position! And they're flying me out to EGYPT this Wednesday! Don't get me wrong: it's not a vacation--it's actually important/crucial for my job, and I'll be doing lots of work-related stuff...but I will have some time for sightseeing, and I am FREAKING OUT because I'll get to see the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx and OMG.

I've wanted to go to Egypt since...well, since I can REMEMBER. I may cry like a baby when I see all the things I've spent so many years daydreaming about! I'll be in Cairo until the 12th, but I'll probably have internet access--so expect half-crazed tweets on my twitter account when I visit the pyramids!

Though I'm dreading the 11-hour flight to Cairo, I'll be stocking up on novels (right now, I wish I had a *cringe* Kindle, so I don't have to weigh down my bags with books) to read for the duration of the journey...because I can NEVER sleep on flights.

So, that's about it! Even though I don't leave until Wednesday, I just figured I'd tell you guys now, in case I'm too busy with pre-trip preparations. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
